Johnny is a prolific lifetime musician who started training on drums and keyboards at a very young age and he also plays violin, viola, cello, and bass. He received numerous awards before being accepted into the Philadelphia College of Performing Arts with honors, and receiving his Bachelor/Education degree. He also studied there with saxophonist Larry McKenna. Professional playing started early with popular outside bands, as well as some orchestral projects. This led to countless other different activities including 15 years in a high society big band, and numerous studio sessions of varying styles.  More recent work includes the Liberty Medal Awards for the president and other dignitaries, a progressive rock band with brother Mike called the "MJ's", and hard rock & roll with "David St. James." Playing and listening to music is one of life's greatest joys!
