Bob Perkins, Concert Host with his alias "B.P. with the G.M" (that's "Bob Perkins with the Good Music") has been in the broadcasting industry for more than three decades as an on-air personality. Bob broke into radio in Detroit in 1964 and started at WDAS, a rhythm and blues radio station in Philadelphia, in September, 1969, where he worked for the next 19 years. He joined WRTI in 1997. Bob has also written numerous columns and commentaries on jazz for local publications in Philadelphia. He has hosted jazz concerts at many local festivals, including the Cape May Jazz Festival, and for jazz clubs in the region. Bob was awarded the 2002 Mellon Jazz Community Award. Bob Perkins can be heard on WRTI Monday through Thursday from 6:00 pm-9:00 pm and Sundays 11:00 am-3:00 pm.
